Hey everyone!
As most of you probably know, we recently launched our $MAYDAY token on the pump.fun platform, classifying it as a "meme coin."
Reflecting on it, perhaps we jumped the gun a bit with the launch, unaware that the licensing process would take this long. For that, we sincerely apologize.
However, this waiting period hasn't gone to waste! In less than a month, we've successfully launched our website and integrated the $MAYDAY token into our donation system using Solana Pay.
But there's more: every time someone chooses $MAYDAY as their payment method, 50% of those tokens are burned immediately, and the remaining half are securely stored in our wallet. We're still deciding how to best utilise these stored tokens - but rest assured, we won't be selling them. For those unfamiliar with blockchain terminology, "burning" tokens reduces their total supply, creating a deflationary effect that can increase the token's value over time.
So why did we choose to allow token payments and burn half the donations if we don't directly benefit from it? Two simple reasons: to offer a unique benefit to our community and to boost visibility for our overall project, ideally leading to more donations!
If you think that's the token's only purpose, think again! We plan to integrate $MAYDAY extensively across all our shelter-related projects and initiatives: mayday-mayday.org, mayday.foundation, and mayday.ngo. Our ultimate goal is to achieve foundation status and expand our involvement in various charitable missions. By leveraging crypto, we also aim to positively shift how some people perceive this industry.
And if you think the token is our only blockchain-related effort, well, guess what - there’s even more coming!
In our next update, we'll proudly announce that our NGO has finally received official licensing in Romania. We'll provide comprehensive details on this significant milestone and outline our immediate next steps for constructing the shelter itself - hopefully within the next two weeks.
Following that, we’ll dive deeper into the exciting blockchain technologies we’re actively developing.
Thank you all for your ongoing support!
